AN INSIDE TO THE AUTHOR'S LIFE

I didn't live an idyllic or easy life. Times were rough growing up in a household of ten 7 siblings and my parents, me being the oldest.   At the age of 10 we were living with my maternal grandmother, because my father lost his job. That didn't work out for too long. We had to move out and move into a house  with four rooms.

At the age of 12 I felt the hardship. I had to adapt to it very quickly. Most of the time it was chaotic. We had enough money to barely survive, but no luxuries. My only salvation of escaping the impoverish up-bring was to read, and read.  I would scribble images of characters, and scribble words on a journal. I  fell in love with the idea of creating characters, setting, tone, and themes.

Years later as a successful grown woman I had an idea that had to be put into writing. I picked up a pen on a sunny afternoon, sitting outside in my backyard I scribbled a few words and put down the pen down.

I returned the following day to the same location except this time I had my laptop I wrote a few sentences. From that point on I wrote every day a little something burning the early morning oil at 4:00 a.m.

The writing turned into complete thoughts, sentences, paragraphs, full pages,  and then eight years later a novel was born.  It was during the pandemic 2020 that I lock myself up in the backyard, and the arduous process of editing and revising started. After 20 revisions one year later the manuscript was ready.

I had many setback the first book cover I couldn't use because of copyright

issues, and I truly had my heart set on that cover. I had to look into other ideas.

The most troublesome part was the formatting of the book cover and the interior. After many failed attempts, I had to get professional help, and I didn't regret it.
